Refractive surgery can be performed on patients over
18 if there is evidence that the refractive error is
stable.
The possibility of a total correction (myopia up
to –12D, hyperopia up to +8D, astigmatism up
to 6D) depends on the corneal thickness of the patient
determined by a Pachymeter measurement before the
procedure.
The method used in laser in situ-Keratomileusus (LASIK),
a procedure that enables a very quick recovery with
minimal post-operative discomfort. The procedure is
performed using local anaesthetic drops with latest
generation equipment (MEL-70) that ensures micron-size
reshaping of the cornea.
• The pre-operative check-up to gather the
data for the laser computer is done with latest equipment;
• Both eyes can be operated the same day or
one week apart;
• Contact lenses (where applicable) must not
be worn 10 days prior to the procedure;
• Use of makeup and volatile substance (spray,
perfume, after-shave) is forbidden on the day of the
treatment;
• Post-operative care entails eye drops usage
for 30 days;
• Post-operative check-ups are done the next
day after the treatment and then again after one week,
one month, six months and a year and are free of charge.
